That gap between where the sheet metal ends and where the rubber now sits is the whole reason fender flares exist, and most people don't think about them until they're standing in the driveway staring at that exact problem.
Here's the good news: it's a normal, solvable thing, and you don't need a full body kit or a fabrication shop to fix it.
A fender flare extends the lip of the wheel arch outward, so the widened tire sits under bodywork again instead of poking past it. Function and looks both come along for the ride. Functionally, it covers more of the tire's contact patch, which means less road spray flinging up the side of the car. Visually, it refines the arch so a wider setup reads as intentional rather than like the wheels are trying to escape.
The key word is refine. A good flare follows the existing curve of your wheel arch and picks up where the factory line leaves off. A bad one just sits on top of the panel looking like an afterthought bolted on in a hurry.
