Plenty of people who want a spoiler on their car have never painted anything bigger than a fence, and have no reason to start now. You want the part on the trunk, matched to your paint, looking like it came that way. You don't want a compressor, a booth, or a Saturday spent learning to lay down clear coat.
That's exactly who pre-painted is built for. Order it painted, and the part shows up finished in your factory color, ready to bolt or stick on and be done.
When you order pre-painted, the part is finished in your vehicle's factory color before it ever ships. It arrives matched, cured, and ready to install.
There's no separate step where you drop it off somewhere, wait, and drive back to pick it up. You go from box to installed in one sitting. For a lot of owners that's the whole appeal, since booking body-shop time just to color a single spoiler is more hassle than the part itself.
We finish it in-house at DAR using a computerized paint-mixing system tied to your factory color code. The match starts and ends with getting that code right.
Your factory paint code lives on the sticker in the driver's-side door jamb. It's usually a short mix of letters and numbers, something like WA501Q, and it's the single most important detail on the whole order.
Verify it before you buy. Look at the sticker directly, read it slowly, and if the print is faded or you're second-guessing a character, get in touch and we'll help you confirm it. A code that's off by one digit can send the wrong color to the mixing system, and the part will be beautifully painted in a color that isn't yours.
You add the code in the notes box after you place your order. That's the handoff. Everything downstream depends on that string being correct.
Primer parts exist for people who want to paint it themselves, or who plan to run it to a shop for a custom finish. If that's not you, painted is the straightforward path.
Ordering painted adds a little time so the color can properly dry before shipping. Primer orders usually go out in about 1 to 2 business days; painted orders usually take 3 to 5 so the finish has time to cure. Those few extra days are the trade for arriving ready to install instead of arriving as homework.
If you were never going to buy paint, tape off the trunk, and clear-coat a panel yourself, primer just adds a job to your list. Painted takes that job off it.
Here's what we won't pretend: even a dead-on paint code can look slightly different next to your car's existing panels. That's not a mixing problem, it's just how paint ages.
Your factory finish has spent years in the sun, in the weather, going through car washes. A freshly painted part is, well, fresh. Metallics and pearls especially can read a touch different depending on the light and the angle, which is why silver is trickier to match than a solid black.
This is normal across any painted aftermarket part, and it settles as the new finish weathers alongside the rest of the car.
Getting your code right is what keeps that difference small. It's the difference between "looks factory" and "clearly a different color."
The paint is only half the equation. The other half is that the part is made for your specific year, make, model, and trim, which is what lets it follow your factory body lines instead of sitting on top of them like an afterthought.
Confirm your exact trim before you order. Two owners with the same model year can need different spoilers depending on whether they've got a coupe or a sedan, a base trim or a sport package. Fit and whether any drilling is needed vary by trim, and because these are fiberglass and ABS parts, minor adjustments can happen on install.
Our model-specific approach is what keeps that to a minimum.
Every order comes with written instructions and install videos for both the drill and no-drill methods, and there's a technician you can call if you hit a snag mid-install.
Say you've been eyeing a spoiler for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger. You pick your exact year, make, model, and trim, choose the style you want, and select painted. You walk out to the car, snap a clear photo of the door jamb sticker so you're reading the code off the sticker and not from memory, and enter it in the notes.
A few business days later the box shows up. Inside is a spoiler in your color, cured and ready, no primer haze, no trip to a shop, no spray can you had to buy and will never use again.
You clean the mounting area, follow the instructions for your part, and set it in place. That's the version of this that most people who order painted are actually after: the finished look without becoming a painter to get it.
If you're ever unsure about the code, the trim, or which style suits your car, reach out before checkout. We'd rather get it right the first time than have you guess.
